Adventure Engagement Session in Breckenridge

Mountain Engagement Session at Sunrise

Brittany + John

People often ask us about the best time of year to visit Colorado. Our typical response is mid-to-late September. The air is crisp, the leaves change from green to brilliant yellows and oranges, and the temperatures finally begin to become a bit more bearable (yes, we are big fans of sweater weather).

Brittany and John are getting married in Santorini Greece next year, but wanted some photos now to celebrate their engagement. So they packed up their car and two of their dogs, and drove from Arizona to Breckenridge, Colorado for a sunrise adventure session with us. We don’t often get to meet our couples in person prior to the wedding, so it was a treat to be able to spend the morning getting to know Brittany and John, and helping them overcome any nerves about being on camera.

We met Brittany and John at one of our favorite spots in Colorado a little before sunrise. This was the first weekend that Colorado truly transitioned from summer to fall, and the early morning temperatures proved that. Our car thermometer read 27° F and the wind blew fiercely. But equipped with hand warmers and a lot of bravery, Brittany and John embraced the weather and we had so much fun!

We climbed a steep hill to an alpine lake, we stood at the top of a waterfall, and then we walked down a dirt road lined with beautiful aspen trees.

We are counting down the days until their intimate wedding in Greece next May!
