Ko Phi Phi, Thailand
When we travel, we are always go go go. We have to see everything, experience everything. In many ways, it's extremely rewarding to travel this way, particularly when you aren't sure when we will be able to return to a place. The first half of our Southeast Asia trip was just like this, we spent an exhausting week exploring Vietnam. But for the second half of our trip, we wanted to try something else.
We spent a week in Phuket, Thailand. We wandered the streets of Phuket Town, where we ate coconut shaved ice, pad thai, red curry, and mango sticky rice, and drank iced Thai milk tea. We then took a ferry to Ko Phi Phi, which is a small group of islands off the coast of Phuket. The waters are bright blue (and warm!), and there are steep mountains that rise straight out of the ocean. We took a ride on a traditional long-tail boat around the main island, and had drinks on the beach. We spent our final days in Patong Beach, where we spent more time relaxing at the pool and beach. Oh, and ate more Thai food.
