Elopement in Mesa, Colorado
Shaylee + Seth
Shaylee and Seth were first introduced to each other by Seth’s mom. At the time, Shaylee worked with her and they all attended the same work party. Shaylee and Seth ended up sitting next to each other and Shaylee the rest is history! Since then, they’ve bought a house together and adopted two Decker Terriers, Loki and Winnie.
When they got engaged, they knew that a big, traditional wedding wasn’t the right fit for them. They wanted to avoid the stress, drama, and high costs. Instead, they wanted a beautiful day in the wilderness with some of the people that mean the most to them.
After considering locations all across Colorado, Shaylee and Seth decided to stick closer to their home in Grand Junction, Colorado. The town of Grand Junction sits along the Colorado-Utah border and if you didn’t know, you might think it was actually located in Utah, with its desert landscape. But not too far outside of Grand Junction lies a beautiful area filled with lakes and forests.
Shaylee and Seth got ready in separate cabins on the morning of their elopement, each getting ready with their families. They are both surrounded by such amazing communities and there were tears before the ceremony even started. Shaylee and Seth skipped having a first look and waited until their ceremony to see each other. As Shaylee walked out onto the deck where their ceremony was held, there was officially not a dry eye around (ours included). But soon, everyone began laughing as Shaylee and Seth started reading their vows to each other. The ceremony even ended with a Cameo from Bruce Buffer, the announcer for UFC events, who Seth is a huge fan of. After the ceremony, Shaylee and Seth had their first dance on the back patio of the rental house, with huge grins on their faces. Then Shaylee danced with her dad and Seth danced with his mom.
To end their elopement day, Shaylee and Seth decided to go for two short hikes. The first hike led us through a beautiful, green forest to the edge of a lake. The second hike led us up to an amazing lookout with views of the surrounding lakes and mountains. There, we watched the sun go down and Shaylee and Seth had time to reflect on their elopement day. We hiked back to the trailhead in the dark and parted ways. It was such a wonderful wedding day filled with so much love and topped off with some adventure.
