Elle + Ben
Elle and Ben traveled all the way to Estes Park, Colorado from San Antonio, Texas. This was Elle's first time in Colorado, and while Ben had been to the mountains surrounding Estes Park as a kid, it still felt just as new to him. While planning their elopement, they did a lot of research online, and they quickly fell in love with the Rocky Mountains. We were so excited to be able to share the park with them and capture their adventure.
We started the morning in their hotel in Estes Park. Elle was all smiles, and Ben had to fight back some emotional tears a few times. The week leading up to their elopement, we all had our eyes glued to the weather. The forecast showed thunder storms all day. But each time we checked, the weather seemed to be getting better and better.
Once Elle and Ben were dressed, we headed to the trailhead they had chosen. We hiked for over two miles, we climbed up rocks, we stepped in mud, and it never phased them! Once we finally took a break, Elle mentioned that she couldn't believe that she had climbed so much!
They had their ceremony on the top of rocks that offered incredible mountain views. Elle read her vows first, and toward the end of her vows, the clouds lifted and we were bathed in beautiful golden light. Slowly, a light rain started (yes, it was sunny and raining at the same time!). Ben read his vows, then they exchanged rings, and had their first kiss. We all looked out over the valley to see the most spectacular rainbow.
We ended the evening by watching the sunset over the mountains. It was a truly magical day and we had so much fun with Elle and Ben!
