It may surprise you to hear that way back in the beginning of Vow of the Wild, we were solely videographers. And as our business, our dreams, and our love for elopements grew, we became photographers as well. Fast forward to now, a majority of our couples choose us for both videography and photography on their elopement day, and we love being able to capture elopements in both mediums.

We are a husband and wife elopement photography and videography team based in Colorado.
As two people who eloped ourselves almost ten years ago, we still watch our elopement film on every anniversary. We’ve been asked many time if having an elopement film in addition to elopement photos is worth it. And after all these years of watching our own film, and even more years of crafting elopement films for couples, we can unequivocally say that it is.
Videography has a way of transporting you back into that exact moment, reminding you of the way it looked, sounded, and felt to be in that place.
Why you need an elopement videographer

Capturing our couples’ vows is our favorite part about being elopement videographers. It’s so valuable to be able to listen back to your vows after your wedding day and hear not only the promises, but also the tone and emotion of the moment. The moments your partner struggles to finish their sentence without tearing up, or the moments you make your partner laugh with a funny story.
If you are inviting guests to your elopement, we will capture the words spoken by your best friend while they officiate the ceremony, and your dad’s speech before dinner and seamlessly incorporate them into your film.

Your photos will do an amazing job of capturing single snippets of time, but video will show you the entire moment. The way the dress blows in the wind, you wiping a tear as it travels down your cheek, your partner reaching for your hand. The result is a captivating blend of sights and sounds that sparks nostalgia and emotion long after the day has passed. These are all moments that are so much more powerful captured in video than in photo alone.

If you’re choosing to elope, there are likely important people in your lives who are not able to be there. And just because you are choosing to elope, it doesn’t mean you don’t want to share your experience with these people. You won’t have to spend the time researching and hire two separate teams for your photography and videography. You won’t need. to question whether your timeline works for both teams, and you won’t have any conflicting opinions.

After capturing almost 300 elopements together, we can anticipate what the other needs. You won’t have to worry about either team taking too much control or worry about whether everyone is getting the photos or video they need, because we are used to working together.

Our Elopement Films
We offer two different elopement films to couples. The Highlight Film is the longer, more emotional edit and the Trailer Films is the shorter, high-energy edit. We say that Highlight Films will gain in value as the years pass and Trailer Films are exciting to share right now on social media.
You can add just a Trailer Film to your elopement photography package, or if you choose to add a Highlight, you get a complimentary Trailer Film delivered as a sneak peek.
Highlight Films
When you watch your elopement Highlight Film, it’ll take you right back to your emotions in that moment, whether it’s on your first anniversary or decades from now. These films are driven by music and the audio that we capture on your elopement day. Highlight Films range in length from 3-6 minutes depending on your hours of coverage.
