★★★★★
“Lisa and Alex made us feel so comfortable we would even forget the camera was there. It felt like we were spending an incredible day in the mountains with old friends, celebrating our love. The whole day just felt so natural and beautiful, even when they had asked us to pose it didn't feel forced or cheesy.”
Colorado Elopement Photographer & Videographer
We offer both photography and videography to eloping couples
Hiring one team to photograph and film your elopement makes planning easier, saves you time and money, ensures a smooth elopement day, and gives you photos and videos that are cohesive.
Elopement Photography
We create a safe space so that you can feel comfortable being your true, vulnerable self in front of our cameras. When you receive your elopement gallery from us, your photos will feel like you and not someone you were asked to be.
Elopement Videography
Videography can transport you back into that exact moment, reminding you of the way it looked, sounded, and felt to be there. We create elopement films that are romantic, emotional, and story-driven.
★★★★★
“Lisa and Alex brought such a calm and inviting energy. It really felt like we were on the trail with some old friends! It was a day full of laughter, beautiful views, love, and (most importantly) FUN! They truly helped us curate and capture the best day ever!”
Dog-Friendly Elopements
If it was up to us, your dog would always invited to your elopement. And if you’re planning on bringing your dog, there are many beautiful places in Colorado that are dog-friendly!
Elopement Astrophotography
When was the last time you saw the Milky Way? Many of our couples rarely (if ever) get to venture deep enough in the wilderness to see the Milky Way with their own eyes. Your elopement day is the perfect time to slow down and end the day stargazing!
Feeling a little bit nervous about being in front of the camera?
We have a little secret to tell you. Just about every couple we’ve ever worked with has told us that they’re awkward in front of the camera, and this couldn’t be further from the truth!
Our job is to make you feel comfortable in front of our cameras, or even better yet, forget that they exist altogether! We will be there with you the entire day, giving you guidance and reassurance, and making sure you are having the best day ever.
★★★★★
“My husband and I are two goofballs who are usually pretty awkward in front of cameras, but Lisa and Alex somehow managed to make our pictures look effortless and beautiful. They authentically captured us, our relationship, and all of the happiness from that day.”

What to expect when you choose Vow of the Wild as your Colorado elopement photographer
1. Contact Us
Once you’ve had a chance to check out our elopement packages, send us a message through our contact form. We geek out every time a couple spends the time to write a few paragraphs in their inquiry talking about the great stories of their relationship and what their dream elopement is!
2. Get To Know Each Other
You wouldn’t invite a stranger to your elopement, so why would you want your photography and videography team to feel like strangers? We’ll kick off the relationship with a commitment-free video call! That’s where you can ask us as many questions as you want and we’ll start brainstorming ideas for your elopement together!
3. Jump Into Planning
As soon as the booking process is complete, we’ll create your Planning Portal. And from there, we’ll walk through the entire elopement planning process together. Your first step is to plan a date night to dream big about your elopement and we’ll use this to guide us through the entire process.
4. Choose Your Elopement Locations
We’ll put together a list of locations that fit your vision for the day. So whether you’re looking for mountaintop views, wildflower meadows, waterfalls, or golden aspen groves, we’ve got you covered. You’ll browse these options at your own pace and decide what is right for you.
5. Elope!
The day we've all been waiting for! On your elopement day, the only thing you have to do is let go of your worries and fully immerse yourselves in each other, your guests (if you have any), your adventure, and the beautiful landscape. In addition to capturing your elopement, we’ll help by keeping things organized, upbeat, and on track!
6. Delivery Day
You’ll be excited to see some photos at the end of your elopement, and so will we! That’s why we’ll send you a sneak peek right away, usually less than 48 hours after your elopement. Then, once all your photos and films are complete (and we’ve cried our eyes out editing them), we will send them to you (so you can cry, too). Having them in an online gallery makes it super easy for you to download, share, print, and keep them forever!

Colorado Elopement Locations
Where are the best places to elope in Colorado?
When you choose to elope in Colorado, you are truly spoiled for choice with beautiful locations. Each area in Colorado has its own benefits and its own unique landscape and views. We work closely with each of our couples to provide them with their own list of location recommendations and to help them choose the perfect locations for their vision.
For couples who want the ultimate Colorado adventure, we suggest Ouray, Buena Vista, or Crested Butte. All three of these areas offer cute little mountain towns for you to stay in and some of the best hiking and off-road Jeep trails in the state.
For couples who want to be close to a larger town with many options for hiking and exploring, we recommend Estes Park (where Rocky Mountain National Park is located), Breckenridge, Aspen, or Telluride.

Do we have to hike?
Nope, not unless you want to! There are many gorgeous elopement locations in Colorado that don’t require any hiking. Our favorite way to get both privacy and amazing views is to rent a Jeep and take an off-road trail to your elopement locations!

Can we bring our dog?
Yes! Many elopement locations in Colorado are dog-friendly and we can help recommend the perfect places for you! It is important to note that not everywhere allows dogs (like the hiking trails at Rocky Mountain National Park, for example), so you may not have quite as many location options compared to if you didn’t bring your dog.
Colorado Elopement Packages
What are the benefits of having 2 photographers?
Many elopement photography teams only include one photographer, but we include 2 photographers in all of our packages. This allows us to capture more dynamic photos, help coordinate your guests, and offer videography to our packages.
6 reasons to hire a 2-photographer team for your elopement
What are the benefits of hiring a local Colorado elopement photographer?
We were both born and raised in Colorado. Over the years we have spent sooo much time in-person scouting and exploring all over Colorado and we share all of this experience and knowledge with the couples who hire us. We provide our couples with hidden gem locations as well as tips for avoiding crowds at even the most popular locations (such as Rocky Mountain National Park). Our deep knowledge for locations also means that if we need to pivot on the fly due to bad weather or even wildfires, we can easily give you new suggestions.

Do we need elopement videography?
You’ll never regret adding videography to your elopement package. Videography is an incredible way to not only re-live your elopement day for years to come, but also to share the experience with friends and family who are not going to be attending your elopement. We make it simple for couples to add videography to their package and offer two film options depending on your budget.

How much coverage do we need?
We offer packages that range from 4 hours of coverage to multiple days of coverage. At the beginning of the elopement planning process, most couples think they need less coverage than they actually do. We believe that just because you’re eloping, it doesn’t mean your wedding deserves any less time and celebration. Our most popular package includes 8 hours of coverage, which allows you to immerse yourself in the mountains and spend quality time with each other.
2-day elopements
While it is possible to fit an amazing adventure into one day, early mornings, long days, and late nights can be exhausting. 2 day elopements allow you to rest in between your adventures so you’re refreshed and ready to be fully present! And if you’re having guests, you can split your experience into one elopement-style just for just the two of you and another day with your friends and family.

12-hour elopements
This package is for couples who want a day full of adventure. You will be able to visit a variety of locations and have time to relax and take it all in. If you have guests, you can enjoy intimate moments alone and real quality time with your loved ones. And you'll have time after all that to end the day capturing star photos under the Milky Way.

8-hour elopements
Our most popular elopement package! Narrowing down which locations to visit is tough, but an 8+ hour elopement makes this process easier by allowing you to visit a few locations, or have time to stay out for pictures under the stars. If you have guests, you can enjoy moments alone and some time with your loved ones.

4-hour elopements
This package is only available to couples with 0-10 guests. 4 hours of coverage is the perfect starting place for couples who want to visit 1-2 locations. This package is often a great choice if you aren't sure what your elopement day will look like yet.
Elopement Planning
What is the Planning Portal?
Our Planning Portal will make planning your elopement fun and easy. Our main goal is to keep you organized all in one place and be available to answer your questions and give you advice every step of the way. Our Planning Portal provides all of that.
You’ll have access from your computer when you want to sit down and via the mobile app when you’re away from home. There’s space to talk over ideas and ask for advice, a comprehensive to-do list that breaks things down step by step, vow writing tips, blogs full of interesting elopement ideas and locations, and anything else we have ever thought might be helpful.

Can we elope with guests?
Yes! These days, the word “elopement” doesn’t mean that you have to get married without anyone else present. We love when couples invite some of the people who mean the most to them.
How will guests affect our location options?
In general, the fewer guests you have, the more options you will have. Colorado has very strict permitting rules for the purpose of land preservation and the enjoyment of other visitors. So while it might seem like you can just pull over at any location to get married with all of your guests, that is not the case. The number of guests that you choose to invite to your elopement will impact the location options available for you.
Location options based on your guest count
What kinds of activities can we do on our elopement day?
We recommend choosing activities for your elopement day that feel like you. So whether that’s something you do often together or maybe it’s something you’ve always wanted to try! Common activities we see are hiking, off-roading, kayaking or stand up paddle boarding, having a picnic, stargazing, and reading letters from family and friends not present.

What is the best time of year to elope in Colorado?
Every season has something to offer! If you want the most location options, we recommend eloping in the summer or fall, from mid-June through early October.

What does an elopement ceremony look like?
Colorado is one of only a few states that allows self-solemnization. This means that you do not need an officiant or even any witnesses to make your marriage legal! Because of this, your ceremony can look however you’d like! Many couples keep their ceremony short and simple, while others have a close family member or friend officiate for them.
