“We interviewed several photographers before choosing Vow of the Wild, and from our very first call with Lisa & Alex, we knew they were the right choice. They weren’t the lowest-cost option, but their warmth, professionalism, and genuine care stood out immediately.
One of the things we were most excited about was including our dog in the wedding photos. Lisa & Alex created a thoughtful plan to make that happen. Unfortunately, just before the wedding, our sweet pup unexpectedly crossed the rainbow bridge. Around the same time, someone very dear to us was diagnosed with cancer and couldn’t attend our small ceremony. We suddenly found ourselves grieving and questioning everything—including whether we should even go through with the celebration.
Lisa & Alex gave us space to process and then helped us create a new plan that honored those we were missing. They offered to meet us in Denver days before the wedding to take photos with loved ones who couldn’t travel. They also helped us completely rework the photo locations in Telluride at the last minute, meeting us with flexibility and grace.
By the time our wedding day arrived, we were exhausted—emotionally and physically. Neither of us had slept the night before. We showed up to the star photos tired, overwhelmed, and nervous. But somehow, Lisa & Alex helped shift the energy. As the morning unfolded, we started to feel more at ease, reconnecting with the reason we were doing this in the first place.
They quietly captured the most intimate, authentic moments as we spent the morning alone together. Their gentle direction and creative ideas led the way. One spontaneous moment—hopping up on the Jeep—resulted in one of our favorite photos of the day, full of laughter and joy.
Throughout the entire experience, Lisa & Alex weren’t just photographers. They were steady, kind, intuitive guides who helped us find light in a difficult time. After the ceremony, they even joked about calling them if we decided to jump in the pool that night. We didn’t—but honestly, we kind of wish we had. Maybe in 10 years, we can all meet back in Telluride and make it happen.
Thank you, Lisa & Alex, for putting the pieces back together when things were falling apart, for helping us feel seen and supported, and for capturing the most beautiful photos we’ll ever have.”
