After meeting while on vacation in North Carolina at the age of 15, Mike and Paige quickly developed a crush on each other. They remained in contact with each other, even after their vacation was over and they both went back to their homes in different states. Eventually, they lost touch, but never forgot about each other. One night, in college, Paige added Mike on Facebook. This led to them reconnecting and now they’ve got a house together and two adopted pups!
Mike and Paige did things a little bit differently when it came to planning their elopement. They weren’t even officially engaged when they first contacted us. In fact, they wouldn’t become engaged until their elopement ceremony, moments before they became husband and wife! Mike and Paige chose to elope in Colorado not only because of the beautiful views but also because they could self-solemnize their marriage, meaning they wouldn’t need an officiant or any witnesses to make their marriage official.
On the morning of their elopement, we arrived at the overlook in Boulder, Colorado shortly before sunrise. From Flagstaff Mountain, we could see for miles and the horizon glowed orange. We followed the short trail and then climbed over the rocks. As the sun started peeking out over the horizon, Mike and Paige started their elopement ceremony, which included Mike’s proposal.
After the ceremony, Mike and Paige paused to take in the incredible mountain views before we drove down the mountain to Chautauqua Park. There we took a short hike until we found a secluded spot on the trail for their first dance. By the end of their elopement morning, we all agreed that a nap was in order, but the early morning couldn’t have been more worth it!
This elopement took place on Ute, Cheyenne, and Arapaho Land.
