Marble Lodge Elopement

Fall Elopement at Marble Lodge in Colorado

Kyle + Nichole

Nichole and Kyle met at work when they were just teenagers. They became friends, and maybe even had small crushes on each other, but the timing was never right. Their lives went on and they each went their separate ways, but eventually, they were brought back together. And finally, their friendship became something more.

After getting engaged, they decided to have an intimate wedding in the mountains of Colorado with their closest friends, family, Nichole’s two children, and their two dogs. They chose to get married in a tiny town called Marble, which is located about an hour and a half outside of Aspen, Colorado. It was mid-September and the leaves were just starting to turn bright yellow. They rented out Marble Lodge and stayed there for about a week with their guests.

On the morning of their wedding, Nichole and Kyle got ready in separate buildings on the property. Their families, friends, and dogs took turns visiting each of them. For their first look, we drove up a bumpy and steep Jeep road and then took a short hike to a gorgeous overlook. Kyle hiked out first and waited for Nichole to arrive. Once they were finally together, they were both nothing but huge smiles. After 16 years of knowing each other, the day had finally come! They admired the views before setting up a charcuterie picnic in the shade. And even though it was a very warm afternoon, Nichole and Kyle couldn’t skip out on their coffee.

They had their first dance at the edge of a lake before driving back to the Lodge for their ceremony. Nichole’s dad officiated the ceremony and Nichole’s two children stood up at the front with them. Nichole and Kyle exchanged incredible vows with each other, and there wasn’t a dry eye in sight! Finally, Nichole’s dad pronounced them husband and wife and they kissed while everyone cheered.

They celebrated by cutting a cake and having their first dance on the back deck of the lodge. As the sun went down, they released an LED balloon into the sky. Everyone laughed when the wind blew it behind them. So Nichole and Kyle pulled it back in and tried again. Then the dance party really started. It was so much fun to watch everyone dance and laugh together. Nichole and Kyle’s wedding day was everything they dreamed. Full of gorgeous mountain views, quality time with their favorite people, and so many smiles, and of course, dogs.

This elopement took place on Ute Land.
