Secret Mountain Elopement
Hannah + Randy
You know when you meet someone and you immediately click? That's what it was like when we first met Hannah and Randy. They are so warm, friendly, hilarious, and in love. They have such a sweet and playful relationship and we loved being able to capture that! They met online and communicated nonstop until they finally made plans to meet in person. Only three and a half weeks into their relationship, Randy proposed and Hannah accepted. This may sound crazy, but once you see them together, it's so clear that these two are meant to be. As Randy said, "You know when you know."
Hannah and Randy live in Oklahoma, and the first trip they ever took together was to Colorado. So it only seemed fitting for them to have their ceremony in a place that meant so much to them. But they also envisioned having a big party in Oklahoma City with their friends and family. So they decided to run away to the mountains of Breckenridge, Colorado with six of their closest friends and family and secretly elope a week before their "wedding" in OKC. Then they would premiere their elopement film and surprise all of their guests.
We spent two and a half days up in Breckenridge with Hannah and Randy. They rented a gorgeous modern A-frame cabin that had incredible views of the surrounding Rocky Mountains. On the first night in the cabin, Hannah and Randy cooked dinner and played games with their guests. The following afternoon, we took Hannah and Randy (along with their photographer, Robyn) on a tour of some of our favorite nearby places. We climbed onto rocks near an alpine lake, we explored a forest, and we took a hike at the base of one of Colorado's 14ers.
Hannah and Randy's wedding day started with a trip to sign their marriage license in Breckenridge. Then for lunch, everyone created their own personal pizza which Randy cooked on the grill. Then everyone got ready for the ceremony. Randy wore a gray suit that he designed, and Hannah wore a strapless dress with a gorgeous lace cape. The ceremony was held on the patio of their cabin. Hannah and Randy said their vows to one another before realizing that Randy had forgotten the rings. Everyone laughed while Alex ran inside to find the rings. They exchanged them and then ended the ceremony with a kiss.
Again, we ventured high into the mountains. The air was thin and the wind was cold, but we had so much fun on the mountaintop. Right as the sun was about to dip below the mountains, we loaded up into the car and drove to Lake Dillon to catch the sunset. Hannah and Randy enjoyed their first sunset together from a picnic table overlooking the water.
