We love being able to spend time with our couples before their elopement day! So when Taylor and Chris emailed us asking if we were up for an engagement session while they were in Colorado visiting their ceremony site, we were in! We love engagement sessions because it not only allows us to get to know our couples better, but it also gives our couples a chance to get the nerves of being in front of the camera out in advance!

We decided to meet Taylor and Chris up in the Breckenridge area after their ceremony venue tour. They have a pretty adventurous elopement planned for this July! They’re having a first look at an alpine lake, then their ceremony with friends and family at The Lodge at Breckenridge, then spending the rest of the afternoon exploring a 4WD trail, complete with a mountain picnic. So during the engagement session, we had so much fun talking about their wedding plans and playing in the snow.

March is known for being one of the snowiest months of the year in Colorado. And while we definitely had a lot of snow to enjoy, we got lucky with a calm and (relatively) warm day. We started down on the shores of a very frozen Lake Dillon. We then hopped into our cars and headed up to a mountain pass for some amazing snowy mountaintop views! Taylor and Chris ended up having their rental car upgraded, so they were driving a white Jeep Wrangler. Of course, we had to play with the symmetry of having a Jeep now and once again for their elopement. So it made a guest appearance in their photos, much like it will in a few months! It was so much fun and gave us a little sneak peek at what some of their elopement photos might look like!

As if we weren’t already excited enough for their elopement, now we really can’t wait!!
