Blue Ridge Mountains Elopement
Madison + Damien
Madison and Damien met in tenth grade history class and were immediately inseparable. They both grew up in Brevard, North Carolina, and wanted to get married nearby. They ended up deciding to have their intimate wedding in the Blue Ridge Mountains at the Pisgah Inn.
On the morning of their wedding, Madison and Damien got up and watched the sunrise over the foggy mountains together. They then got ready in separate rooms before seeing each other for the first time as Madison walked down the aisle at their morning ceremony. Hot damn, I don’t think we’ve ever cried so much at a ceremony! Seriously, there was not a dry eye as Madison read her vows to Damien, the pictures prove it.
Then they had an afternoon reception back in the lodge which included a caricature artist, a polaroid camera, hilarious speeches, and dancing. At the end of lunch, Madison and Damien said emotional goodbyes to their families. This was the last time they would all see each other for a little while, as Madison is moving with Damien to Montana where he’s currently stationed with the Air Force.
A few hours later, we met up with them to hike to one of their favorite lookouts. The trail led us through a gorgeous meadow and then through a thick forest. Along the way, we chatted all about their future plans together and gushed over their dog named Suki. Once we made it to the top, we were struck by the beauty of the view. We were surrounded by gorgeous layers of mountains, and the sun shone through the clouds creating the most incredible rays of sunlight. We gave Madison and Damien some alone time before they had a private first dance (or would it be a second dance?). As the sun began to set, we hiked back down to the meadow and enjoyed the last bit of pink light before their wedding day was officially over.
This elopement took place on Cherokee Land.
