Wildflower Elopement in Crested Butte, Colorado

Wildflower Elopement

Andrew + Katie

Andrew and Katie first contacted us just a week after getting engaged. They live together in Brooklyn in New York City and dreamed of a Colorado elopement with amazing views, a self-solemnized ceremony, some hiking, and lots of wildflowers. Whenever a couple tells us that they want to elope while surrounded by wildflowers, we immediately ask them to consider Crested Butte. Known as the “Wildflower Capital of Colorado,” Crested Butte does not disappoint. During the summer months, the hillsides surrounding the town are covered in wildflowers of all colors. It’s magical.

The only downside to eloping in Crested Butte is that there are just too many gorgeous locations to choose from. Andrew and Katie experienced this first-hand, struggling to choose their favorites. But in the end, we think they made the perfect location choices!

Their elopement day started before sunrise with star photos. We drove up a bumpy dirt road to a small pull-off with views of the Milky Way. Even though it was a bit cloudy that morning, we could still see some of the most beautiful stars peeking through! Next, we hopped back in our cars and continued up the dirt road to a gorgeous alpine lake for their sunrise elopement ceremony. As we waited for the sun to come up, we took out our lanterns and took some blue hour photos.

Alex started Andrew and Katie’s ceremony with a reading to help put them in the ceremony headspace and then they read their vows to each other. And we must admit, we were all crying a little bit! After the ceremony, we explored around the lake and Andrew and Katie even climbed into the canoe that can always be found on the lake! We spent the rest of the morning exploring, admiring the plentiful wildflowers, hiking along trails, and even wading in the river!

When Andrew and Katie first chose to elope in Colorado, they had high expectations. Could Colorado really be as beautiful in person as it looks online? We think Andrew and Katie would agree, that Crested Butte exceeded their expectations.

Literally 100000/10 recommend! They are the A-team, please book them if you want nothing short of top tier service. It may mean nothing (or everything), this is coming from an extremely picky couple from NYC that work professional jobs and have high, borderline unattainable expectations - and yet they exceeded every one of them.

They are so professional - superb project management, very responsive, organized and so experienced in their craft that they think of everything and can adapt to anything - truly flawless. They had a clear vision of how to build our day and were also wonderful to collaborate with when we had impromptu ideas. It’s also the not-so-little things - even their client portal for planning, their timeline, and process - makes so much sense and is streamlined for efficiency and is also thoughtful. All the way to delivering photos/prints, etc, it was all so nice and easy to use.

All the while - they were incredible humans to special our special day with. They kept us calm, grounded, on time/schedule, and also inspired by the way they mapped our 8+ elopement day through the mountains with such ease and expertise.

It is an obvious understatement to say that Lisa & Alex are so much more than photographers/videographers - they are truly curators of high quality experiences. We are so grateful to have worked with them!
