Over the last 10 years, we’ve had the opportunity to capture so many elopements in the mountains just outside of Denver, Colorado. This region is incredible because of it’s accessibility, diverse landscape, great mountain towns, and options for a wide range of budgets.

Breckenridge

The area surrounding Breckenridge is one of the most popular places our couples choose to elope in this region. It has great views as well as great accommodation and restaurant options. Breckenridge is a great area if you plan to have guests because there are many ceremony and reception options at a variety of price points.
Location features:
- Mountaintop views, alpine lakes, aspen groves, easy and moderate hikes
Best time of year:
- Great options year-round, July to October for best mountain access

Estes Park and Nederland

The main draw to this area is Rocky Mountain National Park. This is not only an affordable place to elope, but it also has a wide variety of incredible views. The downside to RMNP is that it is not dog-friendly, but there are a few nearby areas that do allow dogs.

Best time of year:
- Great options in Estes Park year-round, July to October for best mountain access

Buena Vista, Leadville, and Salida

We’re probably not supposed to pick favorites, but this is our favorite area in this region. We love the towns of Buena Vista and Salida (we’d move there if we could), and the Collegiate Mountains are gorgeous, particularly if you’re up for some hiking or off-roading.

- Mountaintop views, alpine lakes, aspen groves, easy and moderate hikes, off-roading beginning in mid-to-late July
Best time of year:
- Late July to early October

Idaho Springs and Georgetown

These two mining towns turned tourist towns are located right off of I-70. They both offer some really beautiful hikes as well as off-roading. Many of the off-road trails are gated off until mid-July.
Location features:
- Mountaintop views, alpine lakes, aspen groves, easy and moderate hikes, off-roading beginning in mid-to-late July
Best time of year:
- Late July to early October

Boulder

Boulder is one of our favorite cities on the Front Range. It has great shopping, accommodation, and restaurants. It sits right at the edge of the foothills and you will have access to some beautiful views, including the famous Flatirons.

Best time of year:
- Great options year-round, May to October for best mountain access

Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs is another city that has great shopping, accommodation, and restaurants. It’s nestled against the mountains with great views of Pikes Peak and the red rocks of Garden of the Gods.
Location features:

- Great options year-round

Grand Lake

Located on the opposite side of Rocky Mountain National Park, Grand Lake is a much smaller town than Estes Park. It offers easy access to multiple larger lakes as well as mountaintop views.

In order to give each of our couples a thoughtful and personalized experience, we only book 18-20 elopements each year. Therefore, you are so much more than just a number for us, so it's important that we get to know you!
