A Year in Review

They say that time goes faster as you get older, and I never quite understood that until recently. It feels like just last month that we rang in 2019. Let’s be honest, we don’t have any memories of the clock striking midnight because we were already fast asleep, but you get the point. The year was a whirlwind of wedding days, travel, wedding planning, meetings, buying and remodeling our first home, long drives, Lisa promising Alex that she would read all of the Harry Potter books and failing miserably, consistently rescuing runaway dogs, and eating way more pasta than any human should.

This year we got to work with 26 of the most amazing couples on the planet. With them, we hiked more miles than we can count. We fell more and more in love with our home state of Colorado and got to share our favorite places with our couples and their families. We traveled to Mexico and floated above San Miguel de Allende in a hot air balloon. We explored caves and castle ruins in Italy. We hiked through the darkness with headlamps to watch the sunrise with our couples. We returned to Isle of Skye in Scotland, the place that we got married ourselves, and spent three weeks exploring and counting sheep. We embraced the weather with our couples and had ceremonies in the rain, snow, and high winds. And please don’t ever take this as complaining, but this year had a record number of canine wedding crashers.

In 2019, we filmed and photographed our 128th wedding. And every year we fall more and more in love with it. Nothing excites us more than continuing to push ourselves to create not only beautiful films and photographs for our couples to enjoy for the rest of their lives but to also guide our couples in crafting a wedding day that is uniquely them.
